Finished quilt

Just a quickie to post the photo of my FINISHED quilt! I'm so thrilled to have got to the end of this project - it was my first attempt at quilting and has been a bit of a challenge to say the least. Next time, if there is a next time, I think I will machine quilt it; the hand quilting took forever. I'd also buy a thinner wadding - this stuff is very thick and bouncy. It does, however, make for a very warm quilt, so "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow"!

Photo of the binding - I loved this bit; it was really satisfying to cover all those raw edges.

I'd better go, Zumba awaits - let's see if I can get my head around the moves this week! Toodle pip.x

  2. Your quilt is so pretty! The colours are beautiful (obviously I take no credit whatsoever for helping with the initial selection of fabrics :P ). There should definitely be a next time; if nothing else, you can only really have a quilt that thick on your bed during Winter and it would be a bit sad not to have something for Summer as well. xxx

  3. It's wonderful! And well worth struggling through all of that lovely thick batting to get such a bouncy warm quilt. I love doing the binding most of all I think, especially taking out that last pin, so satisfying. CJ xx

  4. Oh, it's fabulous! I love the thick wadding, it looks really squashy and warm. It will probably flatten a little as time goes on anyway. x
