Hello there! A super quick post today as E and I are jollying to Dorset tomorrow and I have a lot of packing to do. Is it just me who detests packing? I don't mind unpacking so much but something about having to make a list of necessities and get it all together makes my heart sink. E's last exam was yesterday and she is currently having a driving lesson, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to clear my camera and do a quick post.
Just a few things this week:
Lovely scented stocks from my neighbours to thank us for cat sitting over half term. There were choccies too but I donated those to E to help with the revision.
Lemon Drizzle Cake:
Spotting the new baby deer in the garden - it was distinctly wobbly when E took these photos but we saw it again yesterday and it was gamboling around like a little lamb.
Deciding to make my hexagons into a cushion (I was tempted by covering the piano stool but decided that needed something a little more robust). Here I am hand quilting - I can just about cope with that for something cushion sized!
Ta-Dah!
Next time I might try piping - do you need a special sewing machine foot? This time I was just so pleased to have something made from my very own patchwork; I so enjoyed this and it's a perfect craft for doing out and about. Crochet cushion and throw patterns courtesy of Attic24.
Setting up my patchwork on the go tins to take to Dorset - diamonds this time!
E celebrated her last exam by making a tiramisu:
That's it - I said it was a short post. I'm just off to hunt out sunhats and suncream - ever the hopeful one! We're looking forward to walks on the beach (whatever the weather), cream teas and, more importantly, not a textbook in sight!Have a great week.
Toodle Pip for now. x
Your cushion is beautiful! Really well done. I'm the opposite from you, I like packing but not unpacking. I hope you have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteFantastic cushion, well done you. I'm with Jennifer, I dread unpacking, ugh. The little deer is gorgeous, how wonderful to have him in your garden. I'm so glad E's exams are over, there must be great relief. I hope you both have a wonderful break. And I hear that sunshine and warm weather is on the way, yay. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteHow very posh your chair looks now! Oh.....I just loved the fawn, how lucky you are to have them around! Have a wonderful holiday!xxx
ReplyDeleteI hate packing too. I'm not what you'd call a good capsule packer. As for the baby fawn......what a priceless moment that must have been! Enjoy Dorset.

What a cozy, inviting corner, I could spend a perfect afternoon there with a book, especially if you bring me some tiramisu.

But that cushion!!!! My goodness it is beautiful!!! I love it on your wicker chair! It is perfect in every way! Wishing you all good things on your trip! Nicole xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I didn't use a special foot when piping a cushion; my machine is so old it doesn't have any, and I manage most things, including zips. Exam time in our house, too, but nearly over : ) Jen PS sweet fawn!!
ReplyDeleteI love your patchwork cushion, it looks fantastic I your wicker chair with the crochet throw. I would love a chair like that. Have a great time in Dorset and I hope the weather is kind to you. We had a lovely day out in Dorset on Thursday and the weather was just perfect. xx
